Both Dr. Lauren Clum and Dr. Jane Simbre are committed to serving patients with the highest quality chiropractic care. It is estimated that there are only 1,200 chiropractors in the world who specialize in this upper cervical specific chiropractic care. We utilize specific procedures and the most cutting edge technology to provide the highest level of care possible, objectively monitoring the presence and removal of irritation to the central nervous system.

Computed Infrared Thermography

abnormal_scan.gifThermography is a medical technology that is FDA approved as a neurodiagnostic procedure. In our office, this technology is utilized by scanning a temperature-sensitive device over the spine. A computerized analysis produces a graph, which reveals dysfunction in the nervous system. This procedure is used on every visit to objectively monitor the course of patient care.

Precision Laser-Aligned Digital Radiography

Oakland Specific Chiropractic utilizes the most advanced radiographic technology with precision laser-aligned visit_xray.pngdigital radiography, producing the most accurate and effective x-ray examinations available today. Since standard x-ray technology is inadequate for this purpose, a high precision laser-aligned x-ray instrument is used. Not only does this technology produce the most accurate images, it also reduces the radiation exposure to the patient by 40% when compared to traditional plain film x-rays. The digital x-ray images are then analyzed by the doctor to determine the three-dimensional displacement of the upper cervical vertebrae, which allows for the doctor to provide the most specific and effective adjustment possible. Be assured that radiological examinations are performed only when clinically necessary to insure proper patient care.

Specific Chiropractic Adjusting

A specific chiropractic adjustment is delivered only when nervous system dysfunction is present as indicated by the thermographic scan. When clinically necessary, a specific adjustment is made to the upper cervical spine to restore integrity within the nervous system. Following the adjustment, the patient undergoes a post-adjustment neural recuperation in a zero-gravity position for 25-30 minutes. Afterward, another thermograph is used to confirm that the correction has been made. The correction restores proper communication between the brain and cells throughout the body, allowing for healing to begin.
